Bulgaria: Great weather and football – the ingredients for better beer sales
In the first four months of 2006, sales of beer were 16% up in Bulgaria as compared to the same period last year, Novinite News communicated on May 11.
That has been announced by the association of Bulgarian beer breweries
According to the producers, the keenness for beer is mainly due to Bulgarian football clubs and their impressive performance in the race for the UEFA Cup.
Games were followed with great interest, bringing people together to enjoy the matches on TV over beer, they say.
Weather in the early spring was also better than last year's, which was another key factor for the better sales.
